Keep It Irish! Paddy's day at Electric

Keep it Irish! Tóg go bog é ar Lá Fhéile Pádraig i nElectric.

It's that time of year again- Everywhere around us things are turning green. From the leaves on the trees to our milkshakes in McDonalds and to our candidates in the Dail. Which of course means it's nearly time to celebrate and be proud of Irishness world wide on St Patricks day/the day before St Patricks day too. That's exactly what we're going to be doing up here at Electric, with an all star all Irish line up for all of ye hai.

On Wednesday 16th we bring to you- Creme de la disco edits from the misty shores of Waterford city, County Waterford, Munster- Get Down Edits. Daz and Martin have been in the game for a long time and know their way around a groove with releases on Disco Deviance, Queen and Disco and their own imprint- yep you guessed it- Get Down Edits. They'll be ablely supported by their Galway counterparts Padraic and Keith AKA The Disconauts. Expect deep, dubby disco classics and sleazy house numbers on the Mainfloor all night. Ain't nothing like an Irish Disco Party hai.

In the Garden- having sailed up the Lee and down the Shannon we welcome Mr Colm Kenefick AKA Colm K from Cork City in the Red Republic for a 4hr set. Colm is a graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy and a member of the imitable Sunday Times! crew in Cork and is regarded as one of the best DJs in the country, getting love from Eglo Records henchmen Floating Points and Alexander nut for his extensive collection of Soul, Hip Hop, Dub, Disco and House music. He's also had some amazing releases on Bastard Jazz, including the anthemic 'The Attic' from his 'The Love' EP released in 2013. Expect soulful eclecticism from our favourite Corkonian. All night long hai.

On a local tip- Bap to The Future willl be getting down in Factory with section5 and Noid the Droid on the ones and twos. The two boys have a pretty ludicrous collection of club music between them so be wide to hearing everything from jacking chi-carlow house to classic dublin-step to lough-crazy banging techno hai.

On the big day itself our favourite party boys Alice are hosting an (in)famous all day party in the Garden. 10 hours of everything and anything and especially Madonna and Sinead O Connor from 4PM on St Patrick's day. They'll be joined by local-guy gone big shmoke feen Breen too, who has made a triumphant return to the emerald isle from Berlinia. Pauly B holds it down on the MF too with the pary jams hai.

Sin é! We'll see you on the floor at some stage for some top notch Irish Lá Fhéile Pádraig fun on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of March. Sláinte!
