MOVE w/ John Daly

  • Electric Garden & Theatre 36 Abbeygate Street Upper Galway, County Galway Ireland

MOVE: A change of place, position or state. A new club-night. A brainchild of John Daly.
Our third installment of Move takes place on Friday, December 9th

Thanks for making our last party which was so much fun that we look forward to Moving with you on the main floor!

Our December edition will continue to connect the dots between Techno's inspiring past to create a blueprint of its architecture and predictions of its future. We're so greatful to all of you who show'd and gave all you did last month. None of this would mean anything with out you. The music needs you, the dancefloor needs you and Friday Nights need you. More on the project below in the finer print:

Borrowing inspiration from the NYC party tradition of old, Move looks to reinstate the original downtown culture of Freedom, Unity and Surrender on the dance floor. With resident DJ as provider and Techno music in it’s many shapes, forms and sizes as the message, Move will connect you and the journey between NYC, Detroit, Berlin, Chicago, and Galway Bay. Friday is the night. Give in to the dance.

Not familiar with Daly? The main guy has been a stalwart within the Irish and international underground for nigh on 10 years now. As a producer, Daly transcends traditional genre boundaries, focusing on lush, atmospheric sounds spread across various rhythmical templates. His more dance-floor orientated works have been released on labels like Gerd Janson’s Running Back imprint, Francois K's Wave Music, London club-night cum record label Secret Sundaze and swiss house enthusiasts Drumpoet Community- not to mention numerous releases on his own Feel Music imprint which was re-launched in early 2015.

Most recently Daly has been garnering attention for his second The Smoke Clears LP. Released on Dublin’s All City Records in September, the self titled album is an incredible piece of work, joining the dots between deep house, electro, ambient and dub, with Daly’s signature pads evident in each track.

However, it’s Daly’s prowess as master selector which Move will highlight. His immaculate ability to mix house and techno in the funkiest way possible is the reason he’s played at clubbing institutions like Panorama Bar in Berlin, Deep Space in NYC, Concrete in Paris and the sorely missed Fabric in London. Daly’s residency in the Garden unveils some of the deeper corners of his massive collection; on any given Sunday you can hear Jazz Funk, Jeff Mills, Joe Claussel, Jaguar and Prince in the succession of only a few records. Just a taste of what to expect at Move.

Move is the next level- great room, dark lights, amazing sound, the best records, even better people and an incredible resident DJ. Who needs international when there’s so much heat on the home front? Come and check it out yourself. It all kicks off on Friday December 9th with John Daly and support from Mossy Hynes. Let’s Move.
